This article introduces the working principle, structural characteristics, and use of the plasma cutting machine's dust treatment system. The plasma cutting machine's dust treatment system greatly improves the working environment of the plasma blanking workshop and reduces the physical injury to the on-site staff.
With the continuous development of science and technology, metal cutting and cutting have changed from manual to automated, from flame cutting to plasma cutting and laser cutting. The production technology has been continuously improved and popularized. The continuous popularization of these high-efficiency production technologies has resulted in a large number of production processes. The fine smoke and dust caused great harm to our human body, so it is imperative to purify the smoke and dust generated during automatic cutting.
Working status of plasma cutting machine
Existing plasma cutting machines generally deal with smoke, dust, and sparks by setting up a reservoir at the cutting work platform. The chips and sparks generated during cutting will automatically fall into the reservoir, and the water in the reservoir will be used to treat the chips and sparks. In addition, the smoke and dust generated by plasma cutting are basically formed under the cut of the workpiece. Therefore, the water in the storage tank is used to adsorb the smoke and dust generated during the blanking process. Due to the limited adsorption effect, it is difficult to remove the dust generated during the blanking process. The smoke and dust are completely processed, and the working environment is not improved much, which causes great harm to the health of the operators. To this end, we have developed and designed a plasma cutting machine smoke and dust treatment system, which overcomes the shortcomings of the existing technology. In addition, its structure is simple, easy to install, and has a good effect on the smoke and dust generated in the plasma cutting process of the steel plate, energy-saving, and environmental protection.

The composition and structural characteristics of the dust treatment system of the plasma cutting machine
The smoke and dust treatment system of the plasma cutting machine includes a working platform grille, a mobile suction port, a suction duct, a spark catching device, a dust collector, a fan, and a chimney.
Working platform grille
The working platform grid is installed in the cutting platform, and its installation direction is perpendicular to the running direction of the plasma cutting machine. When the cut plate is placed on the cutting platform, a gap is formed between the grid plate on the cutting platform and the cut plate. There are two flue gas channels. When cutting the board, the flue dust enters the fume purification processing system from the mobile suction port through the flue gas channel.
Mobile suction vent
The mobile suction port is fixed on the gantry of the cutting machine and moves back and forth with the movement of the gantry when working. As long as the suction port is always in the same straight line as the cutting head, the smoke and dust generated during cutting can be absorbed in time.
Suction duct
The suction duct is installed between the plasma cutting machine track and the cutting platform. Its structure is a U-shaped pipe, and the upper part is sealed by a belt. One end of the mobile suction port is close to the working platform grille, and the other end is installed in the U-shaped duct and the suction duct. Between the belts, the mobile suction port and the suction duct form a sealed suction system so that the smoke generated during the unloading process enters the smoke purification treatment system through the mobile suction port and the suction duct.
Spark catcher
Due to the small particle size and high temperature of the smoke and dust produced in the plasma cutting process, especially the smoke and dust are generally mixed with sparks, once the sparks enter the dust collector, it is easy to cause the dust collector to catch fire and cause a fire. In order to effectively prevent sparks from entering the dust collector and ensure the safe and stable operation of the dust collector, a spark catching device is installed in front of the dust collector.
The spark catching device is a T-tube structure, including a horizontal pipe section and a vertical pipe section. The horizontal pipe section is equipped with spiral blades. The spiral blades are used to collide and collide with metal particles with large diameters and sparks entrained in the flue gas flow. Rotational movement realizes the separation between gas and solid. Large-sized metal particles are settled and cooled at the same time and discharged along the vertical ash tube. In this way, sparks can be effectively prevented from entering the dust collector so that the dust collector operates safely and stably.

Dust removal system
The dust removal system is composed of a dust collector, fan, and pipeline. The dust collector adopts a pulse filter cartridge type dust collector. The dust airflow after the sedimentation of large particle size and sparking metal particles enters the dust collector through the spark catching device and then is filtered through the filter cartridge, and the purified air is discharged through the chimney through the fan.
The investment in the soot treatment system of the plasma cutting machine is low, and the filtered gas can meet the emission standards. The spark catching device developed in the fume treatment system of the plasma cutting machine can catch and settle the metal particles with large particle sizes and sparks produced during the cutting process to prevent large particles from entering the dust collector and ensure the safe operation of the dust collector. Plasma cutting machine smoke and dust treatment system has been used by many users. It has stable technical performance, low equipment failure rate, reliable use, and obvious environmental improvement effects, which improves the working environment of operators and reduces physical injuries to on-site workers.
